Dafiment Calendar

Dafiment calendar, a two sided silkscreen print is, in fact, an enlarged version of a found object, a pocket calendar, used by the artist’s mother as her menstrual calendar during the 1992.

Dafiment bank was a pyramidal scheme which operated from 1991 to 1993, during the civil wars in ex-Yugoslavia. After it’s bankruptcy, Dafiment bank left the debt of what is estimated as 150 million deutsche marks. After the overthrow of Slobodan Milošević in 2000. several documents were published which stated that the Dafiment bank was used to finance Milošević’s rule.

By enlarging and publishing a piece from his family’s history, the artist questions the relations between our private and political lives, personal and public responsibility.

Dafiment calendar was produced on two occasions, as a part of an collaborative artist project The Box in 2013. and as a New Years calendar in 2015. forthe Center for Printmaking and Visual Research Akademija. In 2015. a special addition to the print was published as a pocket calendar for 2016, and handed out to the visitors.
